MY ROLE AT CHURCH ON THE HILL

As the receptionist at Church on the Hill, my role is to “be available”. Be available to our church family and the public at large, be available to help the staff,  be available for whatever God has in store for me…He placed a huge capacity to love people in my heart, and that is what I get to do most of the day

MY FAMILY

I’m married my Mr. Wonderful, Brett Sweeden. We met while doing volunteer work and that continues to be a bond that strengthens us to this day…serving together. We are blessed that most of our family also lives in the Pacific Northwest.

MY BACKGROUND

I am so fortunate to have grown up in the family that I did, there was so much love and blessing. I come from a large, close-knit family of Scandinavians (serendipitous I married into the last name Sweeden!) where the Halvorson motto was Matthew 6:33  "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." I spent summers at Priest Lake and Hayden Lake in North Idaho and I feel I am well-rounded by my experiences, as we moved around a bit. I obtained my degree from Lewis and Clark college in ___.

MY DREAM VACATION WOULD BE

A train ride on the Orient Express, only it would be through Alaska, and it would have a full size  library with clerestory windows and fantastic sleeper cars. It wouldn’t last too long because you would go stir-crazy, but it would seem to last an eternity and it would have desserts from all over the world.

SOME OF MY HOBBIES ARE

Dancing with wolves. Not really, but that would be funny.

MY FAVORITE TEAM TO CHEER FOR IS

The Portland Trailblazers…Rip City, ya’all

MY FAVORITE MOVIE IS

Going to be based on the BBC series Downtown Abbey. Sounds lame, I know, but I loved the TV show and I read they are making a movie.

MY FAVORITE BOOK IS

A true story or an autobiography.

MY MOST REWARDING ACTIVITY OUTSIDE OF WORK IS

Making a difference in someone’s day; really making a difference in someone’s life; making a difference for Jesus.
