MY ROLE AT CHURCH ON THE HILL
As the receptionist at Church on the Hill, my
role is to “be available”. Be available to our
church family and the public at large, be available to help the staff, be
available for whatever God has in store for me…He placed a huge capacity to
love people in my heart, and that is what I get to do most of the day
I’m married my Mr.
Wonderful, Brett Sweeden. We met while doing volunteer work and that continues
to be a bond that strengthens us to this day…serving together. We are blessed
that most of our family also lives in the Pacific Northwest.
am so fortunate to have grown up in the family that I did, there was so much
love and blessing. I come from a large, close-knit family of Scandinavians
(serendipitous I married into the last name Sweeden!) where the Halvorson motto
was Matthew 6:33 "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his
righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." I
spent summers at Priest Lake and Hayden Lake in North Idaho and I feel I am well-rounded by my experiences, as we moved around a bit. I obtained my degree from Lewis and Clark college in ___.
MY DREAM VACATION WOULD BE
A train ride on the
Orient Express, only it would be through Alaska, and it would have a full
size library with clerestory windows and fantastic sleeper cars. It
wouldn’t last too long because you would
go stir-crazy, but it would seem to last an eternity and it would have desserts
from all over the world.

with wolves. Not really, but that would be funny.

Portland Trailblazers…Rip City, ya’all
MY FAVORITE MOVIE IS
to be based on the BBC series Downtown Abbey. Sounds lame, I know, but I loved
the TV show and I read they are making a
MY FAVORITE BOOK IS
A true story or an autobiography.
MY MOST REWARDING ACTIVITY OUTSIDE OF WORK IS
a difference in someone’s day; really making a difference in someone’s life;
making a difference for Jesus.
