hill road construction updates

This page will provide closures and important updates in regards to the impact of construction on access to Church on the Hill.

Monday August13th through Friday August 13th

Crews will begin final preparation for paving of the southbound lane of Hill Road between Horizon Drive and NW 2nd Street
late in the week once the new curbs have cured. Paving is scheduled the week of August 20th.
Southbound traffic on Hill Road will continue to be detoured at Horizon Drive to Wintergreen, West Hills Drive, and NW 2nd Street.
Northbound traffic from 2nd Street will use the newly widened northbound lane and will not be impacted.

Flaggers and traffic control will be in place at the intersection of 2nd & Hill Road as crews
install conduit and vaults for the eventual under-grounding of the overhead utilities.

The installation of conduits and grading of the north half of the Baker Creek Road round-about will continue throughout the week.

McMinnville Water & Light will also be extending a water main on the north side of the round-about.
Look for short term lane restrictions at times with traffic control and flaggers in place.

Throughout the corridor, daytime closures and\or lane restrictions will be necessary at times
while crews complete curbing, paving, sidewalks, landscaping and other miscellaneous work.
Please be cautious in the area and obey traffic control devices, flaggers, road closures and detour routes when they are in place.

Project Overview From the City of McMinnville:  The NW Hill Road Improvements Project is the largest of the five Capital Improvement Projects identified within the Transportation Bond approved by voters in 2014. This project will construct widening and other improvements between NW 2nd Street and NW Baker Creek Road including: wider travel lanes, bike lanes, sidewalks, turn lanes, landscaping, street lighting, drainage improvements, and improved roadway geometry. The "S-curves" at Fox Ridge Road will be softened, and roundabouts will be constructed at Hill Road's intersections with Baker Creek Road and Wallace Road. The project is expected to be substantially complete by November 30, 2018.
