- Our deficit has been reduced from $85,000 to about $58,000. WE have 3 weeks of offerings to zero it out. While 407 of us are giving extra the pastors are doing what they have done all year long - held the line on expenditures the best we know how. We will make it - We rock!.
- Jon found Christ and COTH several years ago. His daughter, Monica, came to live with him last year and now she has surrendered to Christ. They took communion together yesterday for the first time as dad & daughter. This church has been key in the spiritual growth of this family. You all rock!
- A week ago a wife in our church asked her husband to leave. Instead he stayed, they prayed, a pastor has helped them, and they are learning to love again. The Holy Spirit is being unleashed in their lives because they have sought His ways instead of their own. God rocks!
- Pastor Jon Gross has years of large church experience and has come home to McMinnville to pour his life into COTH. To have his caliber of leadership donated to us is a 'God Thing' and we owe it all to prayer. Prayer rocks!
- The short term mission team returns from Hawaii tomorrow. While there, they brought several visitors to the church services, improved the buildings, and raised enough money for Pastor Bill to buy all the chairs he needs to fill the sanctuary in that little Hawaiian church. All missionaries rock!

- Yesterday I met with about 20 key leaders in our various Recovery Ministries. That team will take the whole world for Christ, not just Yamhill County. What a great group of people.
- The Sportsman Show team is rolling out plans for a fantastic show on June 19th & 20th. What a great group of people to bring back a great way to connect people with one another.
- We just hosted a Teen Bible Quizzing event where hundreds of teens from Oregon showed they are spending hundreds of hours learning the Bible. That makes me believe in the youth of today.
- A dozen new volunteers have joined our Service Planning Teams to provide even greater worship and celebration services on the weekends. Volunteerism is alive and well around here.
- Denise Wilson wrote in on Jan. 7th, “I love reading ‘Good Things’!! This week was especially good and so uplifting-thanks for all you do at COTH!"

- Jim Fuller says, “One year ago I was a total crying wreck. Things in my life are way, way better. There is hope, love and peace in my life as I began my new walk with Jesus and with this godly church family."
- Beth & Andrew Eddings say [about FPU], “We paid off a little over $20,000 in 18 months and have about one-third of our emergency fund funded. Dave's principles are challenging but they can be accomplished with some determination, teamwork, and a lot of prayer!"
- Donna Mehlhoff writes to Pastor Ashley, “I wanted to tell you what a darling Mary & Joseph you have! That was the best Christmas program ever!”
- Bill & Diane Landgraf traveled 1,865 miles this year delivering a dozen cookies to 261 visiting families. They say they are “Courageously following Christ with you [all].” We sure love the Landgrafs.
- Tony Narveson says, “A huge thank you to all involved in Tree of Hope. Three of my grand-children were recipients this year and we are amazed at the generosity. The gifts were great and the kids were blessed. What you have done is awesome.”

- Christmas comes once a year and we maximize its impact every time. Tree of Hope enabled us to give gifts to 692 people (each child on the list received 2 gifts).
- Since Tree of Hope led us to give 19% of those to people in our church, that means 81% went to outreach families. That seems like a healthy ratio of caring for those outside the church.
- The generosity of our people is not new but it still kind of rocks my world when we finish a big project like this. You all rock!
- Our pastoral staff is top notch and I thank them for letting me see my son for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I have not been away from here on the 24th of Dec. since my mom died in 2001 so it was a nice gift to me.
- Our pastoral staff is so top notch, they delivered “One of the best ever” Christmas Eve services in our history, with 1,500 people attending the two services. Now please join me in filling up Sunday mornings like you did Christmas Eve! We have the room!

- After the Peru team shared yesterday in all 3 services, our special offering brought in over $8,000 for Peru. We were hoping for part of $3,500! We are an amazing church because we have an amazing God!
- Nearly a dozen people have already said they want to go to Peru in August of 2010. That trip will depart the Thursday after the 10th annual golf tournament and spend 16 days in a much cooler climate than the last group experienced.
- The 16 people from our church who were in Peru the last 2 weeks were bright and shining examples of Christ. You can be so proud of Rich, Tracie & Taylor Utti, Jan Lawrence, Joe & Rhonda Forest, Jerry, Debbie & Charissa Moen, and the Smith and the Duran families.
- We lit the candle for 7 people yesterday and then had two people pray and accept Christ right after the services yesterday. When your light shines for Christ, He draws people to Himself.
- On October 25th, the day Kent Mahelona spoke, a visitor in our services from a Nazarene church in Washington wrote on her guest card, “This is an Awesome church” Enough said

The Durans have been here since we arrived and The Smith's arrived yesterday and what a glorious reunion of hearts. I am so proud of the families that moved down here and so proud of a church that is supporting them with prayers, short term missionaries and giving. The work here has seen 100 decisions for Christ since we arrived, and we are gaining ground on the construction schedule. Still a bit behind but nothing a few double shifts can't correct! Pray for energy in this crazy jungle heat & humidity!

- Yamhill County recently invited our Hope on the Hill staff to present our programs to all the parole and probation officers. They want to partner with us in helping people in our county.
- After living together for years, a couple recently decided to separate and get counseling and get married, before moving back in. Their new faith in Christ had a part in that decision.
- We have received calls and letters from dozen’s of people, outside our congregation, who are praying for us and supporting us in this journey we are on.
- Next Tuesday 50 pastors from Oregon will be coming to our church to learn from our staff how to be more effective in their own churches.
- Eight more people from our church will be helping the Smith's and Duran's in Peru for 2 weeks. Others have said they want to go too. www.extremeperu.org will show you how to sign up for a trip in your future.

- Todd says he is no longer going to hide his faith where he works.
- Mike has fully surrendered his life to God and believes he just dealt a defeating blow to the devil.
- Richard started coming to church here 4 months ago. Four weeks ago he got his mom, wife and kids to start coming. His wife accepted Christ as her own savior on her fourth week here.
- Stewart wants to know in advance, the scriptures to be used on Sunday’s so he can read ahead of time and get his own thoughts before he hears mine. Imagine how God will use that.
- Men in this church are stepping up ‘big time’ and it is just a matter of time before really big things are happening all around us.

- I have been flooded with emails, calls and texts of people who are praying for me and our church. It is a GOOD THING when a pastor feels like he is not alone, but rather joined by hundreds of people who are pulling together.
- Our district superintendent has been very proud of how we all are responding to this lawsuit. He sees we are acting as a true Christian church ought to act – my guess is God is also quite pleased with us.
- Meeting Robin & Terry Cox’s niece, Cindy Wilcox, a new Christian as of 30 days ago, reminds me God will bring salvation to those I am praying for.
- Three weekends in a row our See Ya Later team has hosted a ‘Seeds of Hope’ party for a hurting family in Scotty’s Playhouse. What a wonderful outreach to those whose families are battling a long term or serious illness.
- God has encourage me and shown me the increased impact we are going to have in the coming years. The enemy would love to squelch our efforts but I see our people stepping up in prayer, in service to our fellowman, and in the pursuit of Christ-likeness.
